MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY FROM EVERYONE AND FOR EVERYONE

The COVID 19 pandemic from its start also brought along spread of fake news, disinformation, and conspiracy theories all over the world. These conspiracy theories emerged in Albanian media and were multiplied in social networks. In order to understand and analyze the coverage of the pandemic by Albanian media from the viewpoint of media literacy, the project will undertake a media monitoring report on this phenomenon. The findings of the research will be presented and discussed in a debate with journalists from the main media outlets. The research aims to provide a general conceptual framework on fake news, disinformation, and conspiracy theories in the context of the current pandemic and also analyze them from the prism of media and education literacy. The project is supported by Audiovisual Media Authority, AMA.
